Waterfall Creek
Stroll across the lawn from your room at the Edgewater Resort Hotel and make your way down to the Waterfall Creek track. The track rambles along the shoreline of Lake Wanaka in both directions, great for a quiet afternoon stroll or access to Rippon Vineyard and Wanaka town centre by foot.
Mount Iron

This local landmark is aptly named, as it resembles an Iron. Access track begins 2km from Wanaka on State Highway 84. Superb panoramic views of Lake Wanaka, Lake Hawea, Cardrona Valley, Upper Clutha Valley, Harris Mountains and Mt Aspiring National Park
Mount Roy (Private farm track)

For those looking for a full day walk the 1200m summit of this mountain provides sweeping views of Lake Wanaka and Mount Aspiring. Bring a good supply of food and water to keep your energy levels high. Access track 6kms from Wanaka on Mt Aspiring Road
Diamond Lake
Return trip 3 hours
This track takes walkers to the summit of Rocky Hill and gives visitors an idea of how Ice Age glaciers shaped the landscape. Track starts 20 minutes drive from Wanaka, on the Mt Aspiring Road.
Lake Outlet Walk
Lake Outlet to Albert Town 1 hour
Follow the Clutha River to Albert Town 1 Km downstream from the lake outlet and enjoy beautiful views across the water.
Mt Aspiring National Park is set within the Te Wahipounamu South West New Zealand World Heritage Area. Encompassing river valleys, alpine meadows and glistening rainforests, it is an exceptionally beautiful area that can be enjoyed by mountaineers as well as day walkers.
The West and East Matukituki Valleys contain well looked after walking tracks from two hours to two weeks in duration. Popular walks include the Aspiring Hut walk (1.5 hours), Rob Roy Track (1.5 hours from carpark to bushline) and Gillespie Pass Circuit (3-4 days).
